PRESENT MOVEMENT: Moving Westward at 20 km/h

STRENGTH: Maximum sustained winds of 95 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 160 km/h

AT 3:00 AM TODAY, THE CENTER OF SEVERE TROPICAL STORM “KRISTINE” {TRAMI} WAS ESTIMATED BASED ON ALL AVAILABLE DATA IN THE VICINITY OF MACONACON, ISABELA (17.4°N, 122.1°E) WITH MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS OF 95 KM/H NEAR THE CENTER AND GUSTINESS OF UP TO 160 KM/H. IT IS MOVING WEST NORTHWESTWARD AT 15 KM/H.

“KRISTINE” MAINTAINS ITS STRENGTH AND IS NEARING THE COASTAL WATERS OF ISABELA

LOCATION: 150 km East of Echague, Isabela (16.9 °N, 123.1 °E)

PRESENT MOVEMENT: Moving Northwestward at 15 km/h

STRENGTH: Maximum sustained winds of 95 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 115 km/h

TROPICAL CYCLONE WIND SIGNAL #2

(Potential Threats: Minor to Moderate threat to life and property)

– Quezon including Polillo Islands

KRISTINE is forecast to make landfall over Isabela tonight or tomorrow (24 October) early morning. After traversing the mountainous terrain of Northern Luzon, the center of the severe tropical storm may over emerge over the sea area west of Ilocos Region tomorrow afternoon.

It will then move westward or west northwestward over the West Philippine Sea and exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) region on Friday (25 October) morning or afternoon.

It may slightly weaken while crossing Northern Luzon due to land interaction, with downgrading into a tropical storm not ruled out. However, re-intensification may occur once the tropical cyclone moves over the West Philippine Sea.

LOCATION: 175 km East of Echague, Isabela (16.5 °N, 123.3 °E)

PRESENT MOVEMENT: Moving Westward at 20 km/h

STRENGTH: Maximum sustained winds of 95 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 115 km/h

TROPICAL CYCLONE WIND SIGNAL #2

(Potential Threats: Minor to Moderate threat to life and property)

Quezon including Polillo Islands

KRISTINE is forecast to move generally northwestward for the next 12 hours before turning generally westward for the rest of the forecast period. It is forecast to make landfall over Isabela tonight or tomorrow (24 October) early morning. It will then cross the mountainous terrain of Northern Luzon and emerge over the waters west of Ilocos Region tomorrow morning.

KRISTINE may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) region on Friday (25 October).

KRISTINE is forecast to further intensify until it makes landfall. Slight weakening will occur while crossing Northern Luzon. Re-intensification may occur over the West Philippine Sea.
