THE TROPICAL DEPRESSION HAS ENTERED THE PHILIPPINE AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY AND WAS NAMED “KRISTINE”

HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND AREAS

Location: 1,050 km East of Southeastern Luzon

Moving West Southwestward at 30 kph

Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 55 kph

Gustiness of up to 70 kph

Moderate to rough seas over the Eastern seaboard of Quezon and may experience up to 3.5m of waves

Mariners of small seacrafts, including all types of motorbancas, are advised not to venture out to sea under these conditions, especially if inexperienced or operating ill-equipped vessels.

It may landfall over the northeastern portion of Cagayan by Friday (25 October) afternoon.

It may reach severe tropical storm category by tomorrow afternoon or evening and typhoon category by Thursday (24 October) afternoon or evening

LPA UPDATE

Kaninang alas-3 ng umaga, ang Low Pressure Area (LPA) ay nasa 1,395km Silangan Timog Silangan ng Luzon sa labas ng PAR.

Maaari itong pumasok ng PAR at maging ganap na bagyo ngayong hapon o bukas ng umaga ng Lunes.

Posible itong lumapit o maglandfall sa kalupaan ng Northern at Central Luzon.

-Hindi parin inaalis ang posibilidad na magbago ito dahil hindi pa ito isang ganap na bagyo.

-Asahan ang mga pag-ulan bukas (Lunes) at sa Martes dulot ng trough ng LPA na ito.

Patuloy po tayo na tumutok sa mga parating na abiso, at maghanda sa bantang dulot ng sama ng panahon.

Mag-ingat po ang lahat.

Location: 1,255 km East of Southeastern Luzon

Intensity: Maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near the center

Gustiness of up to 70kph

Present Movement: Westward at 30 kph

Moderate to rough seas over the eastern seaboards of Quezon

• Up to 2.5 m: Eastern seaboards of Quezon

• Mariners of small seacrafts, including all types of motorbancas, are advised not to venture out to sea under these conditions, especially if inexperienced or operating ill-equipped vessels.

Track and Intensity Outlook

May enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) tomorrow (21 October) early morning, and is expected to move westward until Tuesday (22 October) morning before turning west northwestward to northwestward from Tuesday afternoon to Wednesday (23 October) evening. It is forecast to make landfall over the northeastern portion of Cagayan by Friday (25 October) evening.

This tropical cyclone is forecast to intensify into a tropical storm in the next 12 hours. It may reach severe tropical storm category by Tuesday afternoon or evening and typhoon category by Thursday (24 October) afternoon or evening. Upon entry in PAR region, this tropical cyclone will be given the local name of “KRISTINE”.

Since this tropical cyclone is still over the Philippine Sea, further intensification is likely. Changes in forecast track is also not ruled out.

Unless there is an intermediate issuance, the next tropical cyclone advisory will be issued at 11:00 AM tomorrow.

Ganap nang isang mahinang bagyo ang LPA na nasa labas ng PAR. Posible itong pumasok ng PAR bukas ng umaga at papangalanang bagyong Kristine.

Bagama’t hindi pa nakikitang direktang lalapit sa lalawigan ang bagyo, mas ligtas pa rin na maghanda ang lahat sa banta ng mga pagbaha at pagguho ng lupa lalo na sa mga lugar na dati nang may kasaysayan nito o nasa hazard prone areas.

Nasa karagatan pa ang bagyo at malayo sa kalupaan kaya maaari pang magbago ang direksyon nito. Nakararamdam na rin ng masamang panahon sa karagatan at maaaring umabot ng 2.5 na metro ang taas ng mga alon.

Patuloy tayong sumubaybay sa mga paalala at abiso.

Inaatasan din ang mga kinauukulan na isagawa ang paghahanda base sa BRAVO Protocol gayundin ang pagpapasa ng situational reports tuwing 0500 (5:00AM) at 1700H (5:00PM) sa pdrrmo.quezon4a@gmail.com
