Serbisyong Suarez health coupons with the total amount of Php 2,375,000.00–or Php 25,000.00 each – were given to the 95 barangays of Lopez, Quezon this January 20, 2013 at the town’s municipal court.
Lopez Mayor Isaias Uban II announced his gratitude for the programs of the provincial government under the leadership of Quezon Governor David C. Suarez – particularly the Lingap Kalusugan sa Barangay more popularly known as Serbisyong Suarez Health Coupons. He added that the initiative of the provincial government gives the Quezonians hope, and reaches even the farthest corner of the province.
In the message of Gov. Suarez he said that it is precisely the objective of Serbisyong Suarez to reach out to every Quezonian and give them a better life. He also acknowledged the important role of barangay officials in making the services of the provincial government available to the people, and that their first-hand knowledge about the needs of the residents is vital in keeping the province’s programs relevant and responsive. Gov. Suarez added thatQuezon is currently allocating funds for an endowment program that will benefit retiring barangay officials in recognition for their years of service.
The health coupons provided for the barangays can be used by the residents to purchase medicine, as well as to pay for check-ups and hospital expenses in Quezon public hospitals.
