Quezon Governor David “Jayjay” C. Suarez lauded Tayabas City for its contribution to the development of organic farming in the province. At the Farmers’ Christmas Party held at the said municipality’s covered court last December 14, 2012, Gov. Suarez championed the farming technique which yields safer and healthier products, and also took the opportunity to announce the Provincial Government’s plan to launch theFarmer’s Enhancement Productivity Program (FEPP)on 2013.
According to Gov. Suarez, FEPP would improve both the state of crop output in Quezon as well as the socio-economic status of the province’s farmers. Under the said program, the Local Government would provide Quezonian farmers with seeds for growing, as well as fertilizers and other materials needed to take care of their crops. The Local Government would also be the ones to buy the produce of the farmers under FEPP in order to protect their income.
Gov. Suarez also reminded the farmers during the Christmas Party that the Local Government gives special priority to the children of farmers and fishermen who apply for the Serbisyong Suarez Scholarship Program. He thanked Tayabas for the city’s support towards his administration’s programs before heading to Barangay Pulo, San Antonio, Quezon, where he also took part in the latter’s Christmas celebration. The hardworking governor said he is fond of visiting communities all over the province, particularly those in far-flung areas, because he can personally observe the living conditions of his fellow Quezonians and have them voice out their needs and concerns in person.(QUEZON PIO)
